Overview:

Learn & Earn Career Development interns will take part in a FREE remote college or career training course at a partnering college for 3 to 6 college credits and/or technical skill and internship activities will total about 25 hours per week for 6 weeks.  Eligible students will  have the opportunity to participate in regular study sessions, academic exploration activities, and to learn more about programs that exist to assist with the transition to college and career. This opportunity is limited to rising juniors and seniors. The program begins on July 12th and classes begin on July 19th.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend online college or career training courses during regularly scheduled hours.

  • Actively enage in online courses and complete assigned coursework.

  • Participate in weekly virtual small study group sessions.

  • Attend weekly webinars on financial empowerment and career readiness topics.

  • Maintain regular communication with assigned Career Coach and actively inform them of any challenges or needs for support. 

The Ideal Candidate for this Job:

  • Ability to participate fully in online coursework and meet all course requirements as outlined by instructor (will include requirements for class and discussion participation, homework assignments, quizzes, readings, etc).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team mates in a remote setting, by engaging in responsive communication with supervisors, instructors, and program support staff.
  • Ability to participate in summer-end program evaluation.
  • Motivated to explore and take next steps toward career and postsecondary education goals.
