The mission of St. Stephen's Youth Programs is to promote equity in education, employment, and opportunity through long-term relationships with youth and their families and communities. Our out-of-school time programs keep young people safe and healthy within a supportive community and strengthen critical thinking through academics and enrichment. In our elementary and middle school after school programs, young people receive tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programming. Counselors-in-Training (CITs) play a key role in building relationships with young people and helping us live our mission. In addition to working with young people, CITs also receive on going training, support, and programming specifically for teens.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists Lead Counselors with all aspects of group management and program. Works with elementary & middle school students in creative reading, math & science programs. Encourages participation in other activities such as music, tech, art & fitness. Chaperones on field trips to local museums, farms, parks & more. Ensures the safety of all participants.

The Ideal Candidate for this Job:

Some high school required (must be enrolled in school or alternate program). Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Cape Verdean Creole, and/or Haitian Creole language skills helpful. Some experience working with young people preferred. Experience participating in youth programs helpful.
