Overview:

**This position will be: Complete In-Person

 

In the early 1900s we opened our doors as the Bird Street Gym, owned and operated by the City of Boston.  Budgetary constraints forced the City to close the gym in the 1970s.  The residents of Upham's Corner, recognizing a serious community need and organized to reopen the facility in 1978 as a non-profit youth center through a then-unique private-public partnership with the City of Boston.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinating with supervisors to ensure daily operation of leagues and programs
Must have knowledge of basketball in order to teach youth
sweeping and maintenance of gym ad teen center
Daily attendance logs, lifting and setting up basketball equipment
Ensuring safety of youth
Monitoring behaviors
Conflict resolution amongst children

The Ideal Candidate for this Job:

you will be required to referee, participate in operation of daily leagues and camps. Might have to do minimal admin tasks. Must have knowledge of basketball.
