Overview:

Boston Parks & Recreation's youth recreation series and events improve quality of life and economic balance by providing convenient, free, high-quality, instructional, and team-building programs to underserved and economically disadvantaged communities. These programs serve several demographics, including at-risk populations and children from families who cannot afford summer sports camps, leagues, or sport-specific series. They provide a vital means of bringing safe and enriching activities to parks in these densely populated areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assume responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the golf course.
- Maintain an inventory of equipment and materials — regularly check and track the availability of maintenance tools and supplies, ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
- Establish a working relationship with golf course staff.
- Have detailed knowledge of the course — familiarize yourself with the layout, hazards, tee boxes, and green conditions.
- Assist with Junior Golf Programs — support and mentor young golfers by helping with instruction, organizing events, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Serve as a forecaddie.

The Ideal Candidate for this Job:

- Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods during the summer months.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform duties for long durations throughout the day.
- Assist with children in the Golf Programs — willingness to engage and support junior golfers.
- Must be able to follow instructions and direction — ability to take direction from supervisors, golf course staff, and program directors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
